In a year when we should be celebrating our 20th year and raising a glass with all of you, instead we are without doubt facing the hardest times we have encountered and beyond anything we could imagine. We are all living through unprecedented times and having to face the unknown every day.

 

We have given everything to Barlounge our hearts & souls; blood, sweat & tears and feel so proud of what we have achieved along with our teams and you our guests. We have laughed, cried, drank and have memories that will see us through these times. We have been overwhelmed by the support, warmth and loyalty you have always given us. It has been our honour and a privilege to have welcomed so many wonderful guests over the years, to have shared so many special occasions and to have been a home from home to so many of you.

 

We have ridden many storms and have always managed to keep our doors open for all our guests, as we’ve always been able to deal with what has been thrown at us. We are using our heads and hearts to work our way through this new challenge but following the government’s announcement we have had to close Barlounge.

 

We strongly believe this is purely a temporary measure, but the reality of the situation is that without our guests we have no
business. And, although this difficult decision has been made for us, we do believe that there can be hope.

 

We must be optimistic and hope that the threat of this virus will end, that the government’s support will be enough and that we will be able to return to work alongside our fellow team who we love and our guests who we love to welcome.

 

We are proud to be part of this wonderful community & city, and to be standing on Watergate Street alongside our incredible neighbours and local businesses. We have shared so many special moments and created so many memories with you all, from cocktails and sharing boards on the terrace, after work drinks, dancing to our DJ on Saturday nights and race day madness, to family Sunday roasts along with all our much loved events.

 

Every day we are working through solutions to overcome these challenges as we want nothing more than to bring our team back to work, to open our doors, welcome you back and carry on our 20th birthday celebrations.
